Chris delivers well-known logos, icons and characters that challenge notions about popular culture, consumerism and politics. By setting them against backgrounds that juxtapose the big corporation ideals, they are left without a safety net and fall into disarray. Chris asks us to think about who is really running the show, and swats the standards of industry into submission with his opinionated artwork.
What is your least favourite food and why?
Mushrooms because of the texture, but the ones in super mario seem dead on could probably stomach one of those!
Are you a plate finisher or picker?
Definitely a finisher! I took the "finish your dinner or you wont get any dessert" speech very seriously when i was a kid, guess I never grew out of it!
If you had to eat one thing on a desert island for the rest of your life what would it be?
Even though I have a serious sweet tooth it would have to be bacon butties with brown sauce, because after I settle on the island and set up a whiskey still I'm gonna need something to cure the almighty hangover that comes with making your own booze!
How did you get all 'foodie' with your work for the show?
: I took the theme off on a tangent. I love food so much that I tried to imagine the struggle I would face without it, and pay tribute those artists and people who sacrifice food, comforts and their private life to share their talent with the world.
Have you ever been in a food fight?
Of course, i've been in several most of which I instigated. I was a bad boy when adults weren't looking...still am actually which is handy being that I'm a street artist!
What in your view looks/smells good enough to eat, even though it's not really food per se?
My mum is a qualified aromatherapist so my home as a kid was always filled with amazing smells. I definitely learnt the hard way that the little pots of oil certainly don't taste like they smell!
